“Paisa Kamao, Kaun Mana Kar Rha Hai? A former India Pacer had harsh words for Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were left off of the yearly player retainership list for the 2023–24 season, according to former India bowler Praveen Kumar.

“Kan mana kar rha hai, pasa kamao? When a country’s relevance is considered, internal issues are not as important as they may be. Make money. Who’s holding you back? However, it shouldn’t seem as though you aren’t participating in domestic or national cricket.” Praveen Kumar was cited by TOI.

The players have this fully in mind at this point. IPL khel lunga, mai ek mahine pehle relax kar lunga. Mentally, yes, but let’s see how it goes. I’ll take a month off before the IPL and then play. This occurs as a result of your mental unwillingness to part with so much money. However, this is very unfair. A player must maintain equilibrium. Money matters, but prioritizing franchise cricket above other sports is incorrect, according to Praveen Kumar.

The 25-year-old Kishan was not on national duty since departing from the South Africa tour in December, claiming personal reasons, although he did not play for Jharkhand during the team’s Ranji Trophy campaign. Instead, he has been concentrating on getting ready for the Indian Premier League, which gets underway later this month.

However, after being left out of the Indian squad during the second Test match against England, Iyer did not declare himself eligible for Mumbai’s Ranji quarterfinal matchup against Baroda. On the other hand, he participated in the Ranji semifinal match that Mumbai won against Tamil Nadu.

The BCCI reiterated its advice to all Indian cricket players to play local matches when they are not serving their country when announcing the central contracts.

Iyer and Kishan’s expulsion serves as a harsh warning to young players who choose to chase white-ball glory and lucrative IPL contracts over putting in the hard work required in first-class cricket.
